If you are a Google Chrome fan and are also using an Android device, hit the Google Play store now. Google has finally released its chrome browser for Android phones. Initially, Google had released it as a beta application and now, the full version is also available.
Chrome dominated the browser battle and recently displaced Internet Explorer as the most widely used browser in the world. Now, it is all set to take over Android based devices also. The initial reviews are very good and considering Google is the pioneer of Android, we can expect the browser to be super fast and super light as well. People may have tried to develop a chrome browser for Android, mostly as part of projects in their Android training courses, but the results were nowhere near to what it is right now.
At a single glance, you can tell that this browser is an excellent replacement to the Android’s default browser. The user interface is designed well and looks slick. Since it is a mobile app, Google has introduced features like voice command searches and also scroll navigation. It is fast and performs as well as the desktop browser.
If you are familiar with the chrome browser for desktop, then you will be aware of some of the features like auto-fill, private mode browsing (incognito mode), and similar features. All those features are provided in the mobile version too, which is impressive considering the application is so light.
Another feature which will impress everyone is the auto sync. You have to log into a Google account on your Android device for full support. If you happen to run out of battery or quit the chrome browser on your mobile device, you can get those pages quickly by using chrome on another device also. All you have to do is log into the same account you used with your phone. The browsing history, bookmarks and favorites will be instantly available.

I am surprised it took Google this long to come out with a full release of Chrome for the Chrome browser. This is especially surprising for a world leader in most things in cyberspace. I guess it took a lot of testing for the mobile platform. I think it is more difficult developing apps for mobile devices because you have to deal with so many different screen sizes and any limitations which may be model specific.

The desktop version of Google Chrome does not have any voice commands as far as I know. I would like to have a desktop app that does speech to text and vice versa at no additional charge – as a free download. I think this is a much needed tool for those who do lots of reading and typing on their computers. I am not a mobile user so I don’t know if there are apps that do this.

I still use internet explorer because I had no idea about chrome, now that it is taking over Android I am going to have to do some research into it because I have an Android. Thank you for this article I will look into it as soon as possible. Does this have anything to go with Google penguin or any of the new algorithms put out lately?

I hope that with the release of the new google Chrome web browser for smar phones, that mobile devices will be able to experience more interactive and dynamic content, including streaming video and other Flash content. I get tired of seeing plain text web pages on the screen. It’s about time mobile browsers see the net more like a regular computer.
