Dropbox is free, and you can download this app onto your iPad for storage of documents that you can access from anyplace, anytime.
Evernote is also free, and allows you to sync notes from other devices as well as be used as a voice recorder. Sometimes students can be so consumed with note writing, they miss the next part of the lecture, so a recording device can help record important notes. However, recording entire lectures will deplete alloted space, so encourage students to record main points that might be used on a test.
