The annual Java Virtual Machine Language summit for 2013 is scheduled to be held in Santa Clara from the 29th to the 31st of July. The summit is a technical fraternization open to all Virtual Machine architects, language designers, compliers, engineers and tool builders.
All other interested developers who do not necessarily work with the Java Virtual Machine have been invited too, to attend the summit and speak on other technologies similar to the Java Virtual Machine – a language they work with, upon their own Virtual Machines or runtime.
As was in 2012, the summit for 2013 has been organized in a similar format. The duration of the summit will be equally divided between the standard roughly 40 minutes’ presentations (which are expected to get recorded), and the more colloquial workshops. These workshops are meant to serve as a means for interested participants to indulge deeper into their topics of choice. Smaller groups of like minded and interested participants come together to have these conversational sessions which involve a more extensive discussion as well as some extemporaneous lightning talk sessions.
There were more java developers and enthusiast as compared to Java language and Virtual Machine specialists in the previous year. More than a third of these delegates gave very enlightening and empowering presentations. This year the summit has in store for all delegates three days of technological presentations, and talk sessions about different programming languages that find its use today as well as the Java Virtual Machine.
The summit also includes guest lectures by various eminent experts of the programming languages, engineers of the open Java Development Kit, and other dignitaries of the Java Language. Souvenirs will be made available, from keepsakes and the DaVinci Machine Project. There will be opportune moments to pay a visit to as well as network with all other industry compeers. Last year’s delegation enjoyed dinner at the Faultline Brewing Company and this year too, the summit will maintain the standards in dining. The summit is expected to play an important role in helping to mould the future of different languages on the Java Virtual Machine.
Since the summit aims at providing for good communication between all Java and other programming language contemporaries, it will be organized in a classroom style – in a single room. Though a spacious conference room has been booked for the purpose, if space constraints come up, language implementers and dignitaries giving presentations will be given the first preference. For registrations, interested candidates can visit regonline.com and register for a token fee of $150.
