Oracle has formally announced the availability of its Java Platform Enterprise Edition 7 which focuses on improved capabilities for HTML5-based applications, enterprise demands, and developer productivity. Developers can head over to the Oracle website to download the SDK for JEE7. The new SDK includes sample code, tutorials, and API documentation for making the most out of JEE7 build.
This enterprise-grade version of Java is primarily deployed on servers. Notable features of JEE 7 include JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) support for data transfer and WebSocket communications, both of which provide for HTML5 application development. Support for HTML5 and related technologies are the key of JEE7. According to Cameron Purdy, VP of Development at Oracle, Java Enterprise Edition 7 is the ultimate platform to build HTML5 and mobile apps.
This widely utilized enterprise framework is brought to the modern era of HTML5 by JEE7. A few of the features that are included are bi-directional communication by way of WebSockets and improved low-latency, which allows HTML5 applications exchanging via JSON processing, data parsing is simplified, and has the ability to support users concurrently.
