On July 3rd of this year, we saw the release of an upgraded version of the Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile HD app on iTunes (Apple App Store). In The previous update of the mobile app, which was rolled out on the 28th of June, some issues and shortcomings had been pointed out by many users and the new Business Intelligence Mobile App – the version 11.1.1.7.0.1879 is conducive in taking care of those issues.
Pragmatic features of the Business Intelligence Mobile App – v 11.1.1.7.0.1879
The previous version of the app that went live on Apple’s app store had some malfunctioning configuration. The version of the Business Intelligence app designed for iPad had issues with logging in while the iPhone version had issues with its orientation. Version 11.1.1.7.0.1879 however has been configured to fix these bugs and now provides full iPhone and iPod support and functionality. It’ll therefore be a good idea to switch to the newer version and upgrade quickly.
Another thing to look for in this updated app is the demo server. Compatible with and available for, both your tablets and smartphones, the demo server has been made available for use with the Business Intelligence Mobile HD app in the iPhone and iPad versions.
Since the server has been made available on the web, users will be able to access it without the need for any Virtual Private Network or proxy settings.
In addition to that that, this version of the BI mobile app comes with a preexisting connection to the demo app, thus allowing you to promptly access it, right after you finish installing the app on your smartphone or tablet.
Oracle has certified that the new BI Mobile HD app is compatible with and will run on the previous versions issued July, 2012 onward with all of the Oracle Business Intelligence suites; specifically versions 11.1.1.6.2BPI and higher which also includes the recent April 2013 versions, 11.1.1.7.0 and 11.1.1.7.1.
However, for those who are using versions preceding 11.1.1.6, those which were issued before July 2012 like all the 11.1.1.5.0 or any of its corresponding bundle patches, will have to make do with the previous version only. The new BI Mobile HD App does not support these Oracle Business Intelligence packs.
You’ll also need to have version 6 or higher of the iPhone Operating System (iOS) to be able to run the new Business Intelligence Mobile HD App on your device.
