XML Training was Needed for 2013 Version of Altova MissionKit Released
Altova MissionKit is one of the preferred tools for XML developers and code writers, for whom there is some good news now. The 2013 version of the MissionKit has been released, even though it was expected to release sometime in November or December release. MapForce, XMLSpy, StyleVision, DatabaseSpy, SchemaAgent and DiffDog, which are all a part of the MissionKit are tools based on UML, SQL and XML. But the latest version of the tools include a support structure for the SQL queries which will enable you to access the procedures stored in SQL databases when you are working with projects involved in data mapping.
Other than this, the latest version of the software includes an integration for Java applications also, support for the updated standards, and also what is called as the ‘magical’ validation for Smart Fix.
‘True XML Alchemy’
The president of Altova, Alexander Falk, spoke at the launch of the latest version of this software and said that this was a huge development for the company and also the tools suite, MissionKit. He called the latest additions and features of the MissionKit a ‘true XML alchemy’. He said that this is one of the biggest leaps that the company has made in intelligent XML editing.
Advantages of the Latest Additions
With the latest enhancements, developers can now apply quick fixes for validation errors that they come across with only a single click. The latest features not only allow you to instantly fix validation errors but also performs these corrections automatically. XMLSpy will list all the possible corrections for the validation error that have been detected and will give you the option of choosing the correction that you feel is most appropriate. According to Mr. Falk, this feature will significantly improve the productivity of developers by significantly reducing the testing and troubleshooting times.
Transform SQL Data
Another tool of the MissionKit, MapForce, has added a functionality that will allow users to process, map, and transform data from SQL databases. This task is also simplified by the addition of robust SQL procedures support. Users of the MissionKit have always had a complaint about how difficult it is to maintain databases in this tool, owing to the lack of a solid SQL procedures support structure. That issue has been sorted in the 2013 release.
If you want to stay up to date with these developments, it is recommended that you request your instructor at your XML training classes to include a session on using the new release of MissionKit.
