XML Is Preferred In Government Offices
When the US Government Printing Office made a shift from the composition engine to the more modern digital publishing, the people responsible insisted on having the ability to accept XML input directly. This kind of foresight may surprise a casual government observer but those who are aware of its capabilities would call this something the government actually got right!
Top Choice for Accessing Documents over the Internet
People who are familiar with development of web pages and web based hosting service will tell you that Extensible Markup Language, or XML as it is more commonly known as, is one of the best choices if you wish to access documents over the internet. The reason behind this is the fact that the language allows the data to be encoded in such a way that it can be decoded by both machines and humans with the same degree of efficiency. Taking an XML training course will advance your understanding of this dynamic relationship.
Sharing and Interpretability (New word alert))
GTO CPO of Government Printing Office, Ric Davis, said that using XML will offer the people who design the digitization procedures a lot of advantages in terms of the processes. He said that the data sharing and “interpretability” factors of XML make it the preferred choice for usage in the electronic government initiatives that are emerging recently.
XML Working Group
To further substantiate this, a XML Working Group was established by the Federal CIO Council. The aim of this council was to promote the usage of XML in majority of the government’s e-initiatives. The group also provided technical assistance and support for people and agencies that were looking to implement government projects using XML. To facilitate this initiative, the group also had partnerships with various industrial and commercial organizations in case corporate support was needed. Till date, the XML Working Group has been able to achieve its goals very efficiently through these partnerships.
