Cbeyond announced the release of SQL Server 2012, the first ever server in today’s industry which features a cloud ready server. It also enables organizations to easily make a transition from a normal server to a cloud server. Cbeyond is one of the leading providers of communications and IT services to small and medium sized organizations. The company’s representative said during the release that the server is incorporated with the latest server advancements and helps in offering excellent performance levels, reliability and data security for organizations.
Cloud storage and cloud computing have been the preferred forms of storage and computing for small and medium sized enterprises ever since the concept has been introduced. The feature will allow organizations to work without the worry of handling hardware and the platform software required to run it. It gives the organizations ease and flexibility in terms of understanding and managing their everyday dataflow.
The company claims that the server is designed to create and extend applications on the cloud facility and the server has an impressive 99.9999% of up-time. This means that the clients will face almost zero down time and hence do not have to worry about an interruption in their day-to-day activities. There are basically four types of servers available which suit different applications. They are
- The Web edition which is exclusively for websites and web based applications
- The Workgroup edition which is basically meant for applications which are not shared via the internet and are accessed through a local network
- The Standard edition which is meant for requirements of high speed and large data capabilities
- Enterprise edition for data warehousing and complex database functions
If you have taken any Oracle pl/sql training courses, you might find that there are a number of jobs which require people with the pl/sql skill set as these servers are likely to be extensively employed by companies. If you are not equipped with it, make sure you enroll yourself in a training course at the earliest.
